I could only name maybe two or three and we had to get more in there so that way people would know that that’s something that they could do. You never know how much you can impact someone until you do what you love. If you love voice acting, especially if you’re queer, if you’re a person of colour, some other marginalized person may need you to know that they can do it themselves. In the epilogue to "Watching and Dreaming", Hunter wears a dark blue collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up, gray pants, an orange apron, and red sneakers with yellow lighting patterns across them. During the Haunted Hayride, Hunter dressed as "Chief O'Bailey" from Cosmic Frontier, with the costume costume consisting of a black and yellow long-sleeved shirt with a planet symbol on it, a utility belt, black pants with cuffs and yellow edges, white socks, black and dark yellow shoes, and a robotic eye attachment.

Hunter finds himself wrapped in a vines and goes to look for Willow and Gus only to find Willow losing complete control of her powers and is forced to watch helplessly as she entangles Gus and himself while trying to free them only to make things worse. Her vines cause the pit to crumble and Hunter uses his dash ability to rescue her and Gus, to which they realize that Flapjack has given Hunter his power, as Hunter saves them from Luz’s staff, to which he shows fear to along with the others. As the others regroup, Kikimora attacks them again and they hold off her attacks before the students of Hexside appear to support them long enough to activate the teleportation glyph. Hunter doesn’t interact much with the students and feels embarrassed being introduced to everyone by Gus, instead he bides his time waiting for Luz to find the memory of her witnessing the teleportation glyph being used by Belos to enter the Titan’s skull. Hunter realize his decision of hiding who he is and not trusting them led to this, Hunter to go after them in a panic, only to be knocked out by Boscha. Hunter desires to be accepted by his subordinates, especially Darius, which stems from not having interacted with anyone his own age and being forced into a life of training which he believes was fun, but he is dumbfounded to discover that nobody believes in the Emperor's coven anymore.

He was initially hesitant to pry into the Emperor's memories at Luz's prompting, and still thinking Belos had good intentions, refusing to listen to Luz that Belos was deceiving him, despite the increasing evidence she pointed out. Yet at the same time, Luz protected him when they encounter what they initially thought to be Inner Belos, and seeing how much Luz cares about him, Hunter begins to trust and care more about Luz. Later, when Luz tries to save him with the jacket, Hunter escapes with the glyphs in the jacket and arrives in time to save Luz from Belos, and they both escape the mindscape. After learning Boscha is in charge, the group fails to convince her to help them take on the Collector. After being thrown out of her throne room, Luz remembers she saw Belos use an intricate glyph pattern to teleport, and they head to the photo room to find the memory. In one of the extracted memories, Willow finds a picture of Hunter and Flapjack and gives it to him, saying they don't care who he is supposed to be. However, Hunter isn't sure of what to feel and Willow leaves, upset that she didn't make him feel better. Gus reveals he has known what Hunter was since the Day of Unity and wanted the older boy to tell everyone himself.

Hunter is hurt that Belos tricked him about the Titan and that Belos doesn't really care about him, and Hunter sees the masks of all the Golden Guards. When he and Luz are confronted by Belos, they find out that the being chasing them is a manifestation of palismen souls and that the inner Belos has been with them the whole time, and they watch in horror as Belos destroys the souls. At that point Hunter no longer denies what he has seen and asks Belos what really happened and that the whole thing about their family being destroyed by wild magic was also a lie. Belos tells Hunter that he is a Grimwalker and the one who looked the most like "him" and seemingly gets rid of him. Hunter appears again and protects Luz from Belos (who is really Philip Wittebane) where he finally says Luz's name for the first time, and they both escape from Belos' mind.

But these young audiences are the ones that most need to see that their stories matter. And they should be able to see themselves as the heroes in these stories without having to compromise who they are. Movie,’ the elusive Peach has more personality than ever — and wins over a gamer who’d avoided the character all her life. Rough Draft Korea, Sunmin Image Pictures, and Sugarcube each provide animation for the episodes. Episodes are usually 22 minutes each, but the third season and its 3 episodes were over double this length, with Thanks to Them being 48 minutes, For the Future being 50, and Watching and Dreaming being 55, the longest of the show and season.

In “For the Future”, Hunter begins to act like he did as the Golden Guard, becoming no nonsense and cold as he was before and solely focused on his mission to stop Belos and the Collector. While traveling to Bonesborough, Hunter notices Willow and Gus enjoying being back in the Demon Realm and while he briefly takes joy in seeing them happy, begins to hallucinate hearing Flapjack and immediately reverts back and insists that they keep going. At the Owl House, Hunter chooses to stand guard outside and lookout for anyone approaching, while being followed around by Clover and Emmiline, which annoys him as he would rather be looking for Belos than sitting around doing nothing. Hunter sees what he thinks are Eda and King flying on a shooting star and everyone flies after them into Bonesborough, Hunter scouts ahead a finds that a wave of sparkles is headed for them as they hide.

In the Human realm, Hunter and Luz’s relationship has become positive, he has become a part of her friend group and he trusts her with his concerns about Belos’ return. Eventually, Luz tells Hunter that she thinks of him as family, which makes him break down in tears, meaning that he feels the same way about her. In "Watching and Dreaming", Hunter and everyone gets captured and controlled to scare Luz, after waking up Hunter and everyone tell Luz how to stop this nightmare. The gang is in puppet form until Amity carves a glyph that breaks the spell.

During this time, Hunter and Gus board in the basement and grow closer during their months in the Human Realm, with both boys becoming fans of Cosmic Frontier. Upon returning to the Demon Realm, Gus reveals he knew Hunter was a grimwalker since the Day of Unity. When in the Human Realm, Hunter went to thank Luz for not revealing his secret to them. When Luz is worried that everyone would hate her for helping Philip meet the Collector, Hunter attempts to assure her that they wouldn't hate her at least no less than they find out about his grimwalker heritage. They then spent months together in the human realm, Hunter participating in giving the Nocedas a type of food made from ingredients in the Boiling Isles. In "Labyrinth Runners", when Gus asks Hunter if he knows where Luz is, Hunter is surprised that Luz isn't with Eda, causing him to worry.

Afterward, Luz is able to live with her friends and family in both the Human and Demon Realms, after the Collector creates a new, permanent portal door for her. In the series' final scene, when Luz turns 18, everybody throws a "King-ceañera" party for her, to make up for her using her previous three birthdays to help rebuild the Boiling Isles. She also learns that, while her original glyph magic died with the Titan, the growing King has developed new glyphs for her to learn. In season two, Willow is nearly expelled, an event that shocks her fathers. While Harvey is shown to be very protective and studious, Gilbert secretly allows her to escape to help her friends.[8] In "Hunting Palismen", Willow gets her own staff and palisman in the form of a bee named Clover.[2] In "Any Sport in a Storm", she starts a Flying Derby team with Gus, Skara, Viney, and an incognito Hunter. Over the course of the remaining Summer, Hunter contemplates how his friends will feel when they find out the truth and hallucinates becoming Belos after his hair grows out, resulting in him cutting off most of it in a panic before Willow finishes it properly, until it resembles Luz's former hairstyle, leading him to gain some confidence.

Outside his connection with Belos, Hunter showcases insecurity and bitterness about being a powerless witch, as he relies solely on his artificial magical staff, causing him to act a little harshly and defensive at times, especially towards Luz, his enemy. While he is indeed her enemy, he is not above trying to help her after she helped him as thanks. Eventually, he learns to bond with the palisman after he hears him say his name, Flapjack. Initially, Hunter was unaware of Caleb's existence, and of his grimwalker nature, due to Belos hiding the truth from him. In "Hollow Mind" however, after finding out about his true nature during his and Luz's time in Belos' mind, Hunter gradually began learning about Caleb's existence, but was initially unaware of his name or true character, knowing only by the Day of Unity that he was a witch hunter with Belos before being killed by him. Because of this, Hunter initially held a fearful opinion of Caleb, assuming him to have shared Belos' hatred of witch and demonkind.

After managing to reach Gus, Hunter says he understands what it's like getting tricked and that he can't trust himself, he says he spent his entire life believing what he's been doing was something good or someone good, but it was a lie, and that there was a part of him that wanted to believe it, but promises that he is Gus' friend. Hunter tries to do the breathing technique for Gus, but Hunter does it wrong and makes whistling sounds. At the end of the episode, he tells everyone at Hexside that Belos has been lying to everyone about wild magic and the Day of Unity, and then tells them the whole story. Luz tricks The Golden Guard into believing she has done so using plant and light glyphs to resemble the creature and then takes off, stating that Emperor Belos is not a forgiving man. Back in the Demon Realm, Hunter reverts back to his Golden Guard persona; he treats his friends coldly and avoids them, and focuses solely on the mission to defeat Belos and the Collector, while pushing all distractions aside. It is, however, merely a coping mechanism to help Hunter get over the trauma of losing Flapjack, whom he hallucinates about often, as well as to deal with the uncertainty of what to say or how his friends feel about him now that they know that he’s a human grimwalker of Caleb Wittebane.
